Sunlight Meets Badlands

Whoa.. hardly a thought about the poor old blog in over a week. Been concentrating mostly on holiday stuff and trying to get a new computer up and running while things are kind of quiet, business-wise.
Here is one more interesting formation from Death Valley, showing in more detail the incredible work done by the power of erosion in creating these badlands landscapes. Shot also from Zabriski Point (same as previous post), a couple of minutes after sunrise, which you can probably tell by the light just kissing the tops of the hills. I think this formation has a name, but I don't know what it is:).. will have to research it sometime. If anyone knows, feel free to set me straight!

Zabriskie Point...I mostly know that from the soundtrack to the movie of the same name (the sound track featured Jerry Garcia and Pink Floyd, and, as I remember, was better than the movie itself). My own experience in Death Valley involves driving through with a broken heart and a bottle of Jack Daniel's...but I don't wanna set a bad example.

Anyway, gorgeous picture...seems a completely different world that the snow covered place I'm in right now...

Your images are stunning as always. It really makes me reconsider what I need to do with the direction of my photography style.

And Merry Christmas to you!

This one reminds me of one of those wrinkled dogs (what are they called again?) that maybe got dipped in paint...

Great, Mark. As donnie stated, this made me think of elephants too. Looks like the thick leathery hide of an elephant and the texture as well
Beautiful

that is so weird! Can't tell if it's up close or an aerial. I should know better, right? Congrats on the new computer, and enjoy your holidays and new year. {:-Deb
